Please keep on doing what you're doing. I'm an international student studying in USC, I have a knack for exploring and culinary tours. I came across your website when I'm doing an assignment for an Arts and Literature class focusing on LA. I wished I've found it sooner. From a foreigner's perspective, I think this site deserves an award :). Eastside LA has always been famous for its "ghetto" image and a history of gang violence. Hence, I've never had much opinion and feelings towards East LA. However, your site converted me into thinking that it's a food heaven, and now I don't always think about the police when I hear East LA. So keep up what you're doing, you're showing a different side of East LA to foreigners like my friends and myself. I sincerely hope all the best for you.

P.S: Since I'm an Asian, I love bubble tea houses. "Half and Half" serves one of the best boba. My friends love their wintermelon with honey boba and pudding, but MY personal favorite is honey pudding milk tea with honey boba!

Just wanted to say thanks for your site. It's helped open up a new avenue for noms in this side of our "arrondissement", which I think has gone un-noticed (compared to the westside, which has enough support). I *nom*inate you're site!

@Natalie: I'm pretty sure I saw Bikini Kill at the Jabberjaw, but I'm certain I saw them at Hong Kong Cafe and The Macondo. So much fun--I always wish I could go back in time to see those shows again and take pictures. What was I thinking? I probably just didn't want evidence because I was always lying that I was spending the night at my friends.

W O W - I am so pumped I found this blog via your twitter profile (which I am now following, I am @fashionintel) because I really appreciate your voice and the places you're giving props too. I grew up in the SGV (Alhambra, SG), I'm also a 3rd generation Angeleno like yourself and 3rd gen Mexican-American, so I am enjoying your coverage on Mexican spots on the Eastside. I could gush for awhile but instead I'll just leave some comments on your posts.

P.S. Did you ever see Bikini Kill at Jabberjaw? I would kill to go back and time and see that show.
